  • Assessment and onboarding: A healthcare professional will assess your condition, and then tailor a plan, including exercises and therapeutic activities, based on your needs.
  • Access to the Genie Health app: You'll get access to the Genie Health mobile app, where you can track your progress, communicate with clinicians, and view your personalised treatment plan.
  • AI-guided home exercises: Guided through your prescribed exercises by 2D and 3D AI motion tracking. Just use your smartphone-no extra equipment.

What to expect from Virtual Physical Therapy

It all begins with an initial assessment by the healthcare professional (usually a physiotherapist or chiropractor) to understand your condition, goals and specific needs. You are then guided and onboarded onto the Genie Health platform.

You get access to the Genie Health app with login and password credentials. This app acts as a hub for your treatment plan and tracks your progress and communication with the clinical team.

You'll get a personalised treatment plan with AI guided exercises

The clinical team then creates a personalised treatment plan based on your specific assessment. This plan may include:

  • Exercises
  • Stretches
  • Other therapeutic activities designed to address your unique needs and goals

Your home exercises are guided by artificial intelligence (AI). The core feature of the Virtual Physical Therapy programme is the ability to guide and direct you through your prescribed exercises. The Genie Health app gives detailed instructions, videos and visual cues to make sure that you perform each exercise correctly and safely. This is done through advanced 2D and 3D AI motion tracking through the camera on your smartphone. You do not need any extra sensors or any expensive equipment. This is all available 24/7 for your own convenience.

 

Your progress is recorded and tracked by the app and your clinical team

The app can record and track your progress, including:

  • Your exercise completion
  • Your pain levels
  • Your range of motion
  • Other relevant metrics

Your clinical team remotely monitors the above data and can share it, where appropriate, with your primary GP or specialist to keep them up to date with your progress and recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Depending on your chosen healthcare plan type and available benefits, we will cover your Virtual Physical Therapy services from your applicable day-to-day benefits if you have money available. You may have to pay upfront for the services and submit your claim to us so we can pay you back. Please include your proof of payment with your claim.

If you do not have day-to-day coverage, you may still use Virtual Physical Therapy services but will have to pay for these services from your own pocket.
